Panattoni developes site in Bischweier, Baden-Württemberg

  • Revitalisation of 175,000 m2 brownfield site
  • New building to be designed for sustainable operation

Panattoni, the leading project developer for industrial and logistics premises in Europe, has secured a brownfield site in Bischweier, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Construction work is being planned in consultation with the municipality in line with modern and sustainable property development concepts. The site is located within the economic region of Karlsruhe and boasts direct access to the four-lane B462 federal road and A5 federal autobahn. The cities of Karlsruhe, Stuttgart and Basel, along with the Franco-German border, are just a stone’s throw away.

The existing 1960s buildings on the 175,000 m2 site of a former chipboard plant will be demolished by Panattoni. An attractive development concept aimed at reducing CO2 emissions and controlling immissions is being drawn up in collaboration with the municipality as part of the construction planning process. The roof surfaces created will predominantly be used for large-scale solar panels for regenerative energy generation. In addition, areas of green roofing are also planned in order to provide improved thermal insulation and harmonise the building with the surroundings.

Fred-Markus Bohne, Managing Partner at Panattoni, had the following to say about the new development: “We are taking care of the demolition and redevelopment work on a challenging plot in Bischweier. As soon as revitalisation work has been completed, this site will provide new economic impetus to the region of Karlsruhe. We would like to thank the municipality of Bischweier for their trust in us and we look forward to further collaboration in the future.”

The real estate specialist Jones Lang LaSalle acted in an advisory capacity in the brokerage of the site.
