Panattoni holds topping-out ceremony at Panattoni Park Berlin South

  • Full occupancy achieved for Hall 1 in the first construction phase at Berlin-Rangsdorf
  • Rental contract agreed with fast-growing e-commerce logistics provider within a short time
  • Topping-out ceremony held on 26 October 2021 for the second construction phase

Panattoni, the leading project developer for industrial and logistics premises in Europe, has achieved full occupancy for Hall 1 of the first construction phase at their Berlin-Rangsdorf logistics park – the largest to be built without prior rental agreements. In addition to the existing users, GEFCO Deutschland GmbH and Hive Logistics GmbH, another fast-growing e-commerce logistics provider will soon be settling into the Panattoni Park.

The new user will occupy a total floor space of 7,337 sqm. This includes 6,536 sqm of hall space, 437 sqm of office space and 364 sqm of mezzanine space, as well as 10 car parking spaces outside. The usable height is 12 m (to bottom of girders). The DGNB (German Sustainable Building Council) Gold Standard was achieved for sustainable development.

Fred-Markus Bohne, managing partner at Panattoni, commented on the new tenancy as follows: “We are delighted to welcome another user to Panattoni Park Berlin South. The rapid conclusion of the rental agreement, in particular, is a great achievement. The Berlin-Brandenburg region is an attractive region with great potential for the ever-growing online retail sector.”

In addition to celebrating full occupancy of the first hall, Panattoni held the topping-out ceremony on 26 October 2021 for the second construction phase for Hall 3. As with the halls in the previous construction phase, Panattoni is aiming for the DGNB Gold Standard. Aside from representatives of Panattoni and of the municipality of Rangsdorf, existing tenants and the general contractor Goldbeck were invited to the celebrations.

Panattoni Park Berlin South boasts a total floor space of roughly 130,000 sqm, distributed between a total of 5 buildings. The site is right next to the B96 federal road and the southern portion of the A10 Berlin orbital motorway and provides quick access to the A2, A9 and A24 federal autobahns. Berlin-Schönefeld airport is also just a stone’s throw away.

Within the scope of project development, Panattoni implemented comprehensive infrastructural as well as environmental measures. This included the extensive renaturation of parks and the transformation of a 3,000 sqm forest. In addition, larch windows were installed and a local species of lizard was rehoused. Thanks to the part Panattoni has played in expanding the local industrial estate, various regional business enterprises have been drawn to the site.

The brokerage firms Jones Lang LaSalle and BNP Paribas Real Estate were responsible for marketing the Rangsdorf site, and Robin Schukat from Colliers International Deutschland GmbH acted as mediator for the new user.
