The route between Warsaw and Ostrów Mazowiecki constitutes the Polish section of the Via Baltica – international road E67, partly built to expressway standard – from Warsaw to Tallinn, Estonia, running via Lithuania and Latvia, which acts as the primary road connection for the Baltic states.
