City Dock Spandau: Panattoni welcomes Kindsgut as new tenants

  • Berlin-based online concept store for children's toys uses innovative business park as new company location
  • Handover and start of lease is planned for October 2021
  • Approx. 12,500 sqm of rental space still available

Panattoni, the leading project developer for industrial and logistics real estate in Europe, announces the partial leasing of City Dock Spandau, Berlin, Germany, to the toy supplier Kindsgut GmbH. Founded in 2017, the Berlin-based company sells toys, textiles, and home accessories for babies and toddlers. The range includes high-quality products with educational value in a discreet unisex design – which appeals to young & old alike. With the move into City Dock Spandau, Kindsgut pushes its expansion and establishes a new company location within Berlin. On the rented area of approx. 1,700 sqm, children's toys and accessories are stored and sold through online and retail stores.

Patrick Links, Managing Director of Kindsgut GmbH, comments on the new company location as follows: “Moving into City Dock Spandau allows us to accommodate the dynamic development of our company. We want to continue to grow, and the new location, with its very good connections, offers us many opportunities for this.”

The innovative business park in Berlin-Spandau is Panattoni's first completed City Dock project. The property has a total leasable area of 14,100 sqm, which can be quickly reached from all traffic routes thanks to its ideal location. Three motorways, including the A10 and the city motorway, as well as the main roads B2 and B5 are just a few short kilometres from the premises, and Spandau train station is within easy walking distance. The property was built according to Panattoni's high quality and sustainability standards and has DGNB Gold certification.

With the "City Dock" concept, Panattoni provides small-scale commercial space for small to medium-sized companies, chain store operators, and start-ups in city or downtown locations. The multi-tenant commercial parks are available to different users from the retail, commercial, and manufacturing sectors. The spaces, which can be used with flexibility and expanded modularly, can always be adapted to the individual needs of the users in terms of equipment and layout. Within the business park, tenants can quickly and easily rent additional space as it becomes available, so that the current market situation and company growth can be taken into account. All in all, this is Panattoni's eighth City Dock project. More business parks are being built in Berlin, Essen, Hilden near Düsseldorf, Hanover, and Leonberg near Stuttgart.

“We welcome having found new tenants with Kindsgut. For a young company, City Dock in Spandau, just a few kilometres from downtown Berlin, is an excellent opportunity for further growth at the location. I would especially like to thank the building authority of the district of Spandau for the productive cooperation", says Fred-Markus Bohne, Managing Partner at Panattoni.

The handover as well as the start of the lease of the new user Kindsgut is scheduled for the beginning of October 2021. Real estate broker BNP Paribas acted as an intermediary.

Currently, there is still approx. 12,500 sqm of usable space available to potential tenants in City Dock Spandau. More information can be found at: www.city-dock.de
