A big win for a big building. Panattoni Europe has won the award for “Investment of the Year: Warehouse and Logistics Space Market” in the 8th edition of the Prime Property Prize contest. The award was presented during the gala accompanying the Property Forum, which took place on 12 September at the Sheraton Warsaw Hotel. The jury and the readers of propertynews.pl could choose from among new and extended logistics and warehouse facilities whose investment process ended between September 2018 and September 2019. Voters evaluated project quality, completion time, commercialisation process, innovative solutions, architecture, as well as the project’s impact on the environment and the economy of the region.

Panattoni Europe was recognised for its record-breaking development in Gliwice. The facility was delivered in the BTS formula to serve the e-commerce market. Apart from the enormous space – 210,000 sqm – it captured the voters’ imagination with 4 functional storeys featuring state-of-the-art technologies, which are hugely helpful in serving the rapidly growing e-commerce market. The building has also been fitted with an intelligent building management system (BMS) and motion sensors in different sections. The advantages of the facility are not limited to its size and range of functionalities, but also include compliance with the strictest environmental standards. The building has undergone the environmental certification process using the BREEAM methodology, obtaining a Very Good rating. Features which made the certification possible include systems limiting water consumption to the minimum and LED lighting.

The exceptional facility is praised by Robert Dobrzycki, Chief Executive Officer from Panattoni Europe: “The building we developed in Gliwice demonstrates that Poland’s warehouse and logistics market does not play second fiddle to Western markets. Its enormous size is also indicative of the lightning-fast growth in the Polish e-commerce market. In 2018, the percentage of Poles buying online went up to 62% – compared to 56% the year before. In our portfolio, too, we see considerable percentage growth of facilities dedicated to the e-commerce market. Between 2016 and 2018, as much as 35% of Panattoni Europe’s development was in that sector”.

The award for “Investment of the Year: Warehouse and Logistics Space Market” if not the first title picked up by Panattoni Europe this year. In the first half of 2019 the company won the CEEQA Industrial Developer of the Year – for the fourth time running and seventh in total – as well as Overall Company of the Year – for the first time in history. Moreover, Robert Dobrzycki, Chief Executive Officer Europe at Panattoni Europe, was named CEO of the Year in the prestigious Investment Diamonds awards, and recognised as “One who changes Polish industry” by PTWP SA Group – the publisher of Magazyn Gospodarczy Nowy Przemysł and WNP.PL portal.
