Panattoni Europe has been named Industrial Developer of the Year and won the Best Warehouse/Industrial Development of the Year award for its Amazon facility in the Czech Republic at the CEE Investment & Green Building Awards. The event is dedicated to investment and sustainable development in Central and Eastern Europe and is organised by the EuropaProperty magazine. The winners of this year's edition were announced at the evening gala which took place on 29 October at the InterContinental Hotel, Warsaw. The awards were given out in front of some of CEE's eminent investment and real estate professionals.

The jury of the CEE Investment & Green Building Awards named Panattoni Europe theDeveloper of the Year in recognition of the firm's achievements over the past twelve months. And those included - apart from the consistent leadership position in Poland - projects already delivered to the CEE market as well as those under development. With regard to completed investments, the developer may boast such projects as: the recently opened automotive glass manufacturing facility of Pilkington Automotive Poland, which proceeded in several stages and most recently included a 21,000-square-metre extension, or the now-operational distribution centre for UPS featuring 14,250 sqm. Pending projects, in turn, include e.g. the largest logistics centre in Germany for Jago, totalling 121,500 sqm, the ongoing construction of Panattoni Park Rzeszów, or the 19,400-square-metre rolling stock factory for Bombardier Transportation in Wrocław.

The Best Warehouse/Industrial Development of the Year award was given to Panattoni Europe's facility for Amazon developed at Panattoni Park Prague Airport in the Czech Republic. The facility features 133,000 sqm and was designed and executed according to the principles of sustainable development, with the environment in mind. Special attention was given to heat recovery, the use of LED lighting sensors, installation of meters for all utilities for the purpose of managing and optimising energy consumption, an intelligent building management system (BMS). Other significant objectives included: keeping water consumption to the minimum; gas heating in most areas; landscaping with the use of a wide variety of local plants; use of materials with a reduced content of volatile organic compounds; increased insulation in the walls and roof and increased tightness of the building, as well as prudent waste disposal in the course of construction.

Robert Dobrzycki, Chief Executive Officer Europe at Panattoni Europe, who was recognised as Professional of the Year in this year's edition of the competition, made no secret of his delight: "Each award is a great honour for us. Each and every one - without exception - is special, particularly this year which marks the tenth anniversary of our presence in the market. As I have said many times, these awards are a testament to the fierce determination and great professionalism of our entire team. They prove that we have been right so far in adhering to best practices and at the same time give us a strong incentive for the years to come."

Panattoni Europe celebrates its 10-year anniversary in Europe. Since 2005, the developer has delivered 3.2 million square metres of modern space, including as much as 2.5 million in Poland - more than any other developer present in the domestic market. It would have been impossible without tenants - as many as 260 companies have leased or commissioned Panattoni to build their own facilities, both warehouse and production-oriented. Panattoni Europe has sparked a trend for building BTS facilities, notably in Special Economic Zones, and has also opened up the capital market to warehouse space. The firm has built 141 facilities across Europe and closed record-breaking transactions: in Poland, the Czech Republic and Germany.
