Panattoni Park Mittelfranken: Ready, steady go in Bavaria

  • Panattoni is developing logistics facility with approx. 46,000 sqm total floor space on approx. 81,100 sqm plot in Wörnitz
  • Park in highly sought-after economic and logistics region of Bavaria
  • Construction work scheduled to begin at start of November 2021, completion planned for end of 2022

Panattoni, the leading project developer for industrial and logistics facilities in Europe, is developing a logistics facility in Wörnitz, Bavaria. It’s all systems go for Panattoni Park Mittelfranken – which is being developed without any prior rental agreements – with extensive earthworks to begin on 1 November 2021. This will involve evening out height differences of up to eight metres. The first columns and the building foundation are to be installed at the beginning of 2022, and completion is scheduled for the end of 2022.

With the development of Panattoni Park Mittelfranken, Panattoni is providing the supply to the consistently high demand for space in the economic and logistics region of Bavaria. The facility is ideal for prospective users specialising in storage, logistics and light industry and is within easy reach of the major hubs of Frankfurt, Munich, Stuttgart and Nuremberg. The site also boasts a direct link to the junction of the A6 and A7 federal autobahns, with transport routes fanning out in all directions.

Two halls with a total floor space of roughly 46,000 sqm – of which approx. 40,400 sqm logistics space, approx. 1,920 sqm office space and approx. 3,850 sqm storage mezzanine space – will be built on a plot measuring 81,071 sqm in total. Panattoni is striving for the DGNB Gold Standard in its construction work, with one half of the roof area to be covered with solar panels for a sustainable and low-emission energy supply. And to seamlessly integrate the facility into the surrounding landscape, the façades will be painted a natural-looking green.

“With the construction of the Panattoni Park in Wörnitz, we will be continuing our successful strategy of developing facilities prospectively in economically vibrant locations. The entire region has the potential to be a ‘Hidden Champion’ for addressing the shortage of space in Bavaria and enabling growth. In particular, we would like to thank the municipality of Wörnitz for their trusting partnership,” explains Fred-Markus Bohne, Managing Director at Panattoni.

Real estate consultant Colliers International based in Munich is responsible for the exclusive marketing of the new property and had the following to say about it: “Over the past few months, we have seen how vital the logistics sector is to our economy and the growth this industry is currently experiencing. For this reason, it is especially important to think ahead and to identify the potential of a location early on.”
