A retail chain leases over 35,000 sqm from Panattoni in Gliwice

Panattoni, industrial real estate market leader in Europe, has leased out 35,000 sqm at Panattoni Park Gliwice III. As a result, another Panattoni distribution centre is now fully commercialised. The tenant will move into the park before the end of April and will use it for e-commerce order fulfilment.

Space wanted ASAP. Panattoni, as the most active industrial space developer in Europe, with 1.5 million sqm of space currently under development, has the answer to urgent market needs. The developer has leased 35,000 sqm at Panattoni Park Gliwice III to one of the retail chains which will be fulfilling online orders for non-food products, including clothes, sports accessories, as well as home and garden products, including household appliances. The tenant will be moving into the park before the end of April to ensure that consumers have uninterrupted access to the product range.

The lease at Panattoni Park Gliwice III was commented on by Marek Dobrzycki, Managing Director at Panattoni: “With the change in consumer buying behaviours brought about by the current situation, and the shift in consumer activity away from the classic distribution channels towards shopping online, retail chains are seeking additional warehouse space. Thanks to Panattoni’s scale of operations in recent years, we are able to supply the warehouse space in demand today and help our customers transition from just-in-time supply chain management”.

100% commercialised. Panattoni Park Gliwice III is a modern distribution centre totalling 168,500 sqm in four buildings. The site is situated in the north-western part of Upper Silesia, a strategic location not only for businesses needing warehouse space, but also for investment opportunities. Moreover, the ideal location of the park, in the immediate vicinity of major transport interchanges – just 2.5 km from the Sośnica Junction connecting the A1 with A4 – helped lease out all of the space in the park.

Economies of scale. Since coming to Europe (Poland, Germany, Czechia, Slovakia and the United Kingdom), Panattoni has delivered 9.6 million sqm of space. The demand for warehouse space in the region reached 3.75 million sqm in 2019, while the supply side increased by 2.8 million sqm, of which Panattoni delivered close to 60 per cent (more than 1.66 million sqm). At present, the developer is working on extending its proprietary parks, both in the major markets of Warsaw, Upper and Lower Silesia, Poznań and Central Poland, and also the emerging markets, kickstarted by Panattoni. The concept of City Logistics Parks is also being developed, as well as custom tailored build-to-suit projects.
